DS900X 2024 - HMI 4.x firmware line

The 2024 model-year DS900X uses an older HMI hardware module on the 4.x firmware line - 4.4, 4.5, 4.7. Not cross-flashable with the 2025+ 1.x line.

Owner-reported - reported

The 2024 model-year DS900X uses an older HMI hardware module than the 2025/2026 cars, with a separate firmware lineage. Documented HMI versions on this line:

VersionNotes
4.4First widely-distributed version with documented changes - adds ride-mode switching while moving, smoother low-rpm fuelling.
4.5Intermediate. No specific change notes from community sources.
4.7Current latest as of mid-2026 on this hardware. Fixes “stuttering” issues; community-reported smoother fuelling.

A 4.6 likely exists between 4.5 and 4.7 but isn’t confirmed in any owner thread we’ve found.

How this fits in the DS900X firmware generations

The DS900X exists in two distinct hardware generations that aren’t cross-flashable without an HMI module hardware swap:

GenerationHMI hardwareHMI firmware lineExamples
2024 model yearolder HMI module4.x4.4 -> 4.5 -> 4.7
2025 / 2026 model yearnew HMI module (HW SS621-L8)1.x1.5 -> 1.8

Owners on 2024 bikes can’t install 1.x firmware (and vice versa) without swapping the dashboard hardware. Multiple posts on the Voge 900 DSX FB group confirm this: 2025-model owners trying to install the 4.7 update get told by their dealer that it’s not compatible.

DIY update procedure (4.x line)

The 4.x updates are owner-flashable via Wi-Fi hotspot. Procedure (community-documented; not officially supported by Voge in some markets):

  1. Install the Boshi or RoadCam APK on an Android phone.
  2. Open the app - it shows two files ready to flash (dash + dashcam).
  3. Turn on the motorcycle. Note the Wi-Fi SSID it advertises.
  4. Create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone with the exact same SSID (case-sensitive, including spaces and hyphens). Password: 88888888.
  5. The bike connects to your phone. A Wi-Fi icon appears on the dash.
  6. Transfer begins. The dash goes completely black for about 6 minutes - do not switch off the ignition.
  7. Bike reboots, new version visible under Menu -> System -> About.

The 2025+ 1.x updates use a different flow (Voge Global app OTA / dealer-only in some markets) - the Wi-Fi hotspot procedure above is 2024-hardware only.

Known issues fixed by versions on this line

  • Stuttering / hesitation at part-throttle - improved in 4.7.
  • Odometer reset to zero after a firmware update - documented warranty case; dealer reflashes the dash module and restores mileage. See the DS900X firmware odometer reset issue entry.

Warranty caveat

Voge officially says unauthorized firmware updates void warranty. In practice, the UK importer (per UKGSer reporting) covers 4.x updates under warranty regardless of who flashed them. Other importers may take a stricter line. Check with your dealer before DIY-flashing if you care about warranty coverage.

What we’d still like to know

  • Full quad-version readouts (HW + OS + HMI + MCU SW from Menu -> System -> About) for a confirmed 2024-MY DS900X on each of 4.4, 4.5, and 4.7. We don’t yet know if the OS / MCU version strings change in lockstep with the HMI version, or update independently.
  • The 4.6 version - whether it exists at all and what changed if so.
  • A confirmed 4.x -> 4.7 changelog from Voge themselves (we only have owner-reported deltas).
