Items worth knowing about
- Valve clearance is checked only at 19k and 37k (every 18,000 km). The KEL500F tolerates this gap because it’s a low-stress 41 kW engine, but if you ride hard or hear top-end clatter, check earlier.
- Spark plugs replaced at 19k and 37k, inspected in between.
- Air filter replaced every 12k (at 13k, 25k, 37k); cleaned at the in-between intervals (7k, 19k, 31k).
- Coolant and brake fluid every 2 years regardless of mileage - this is the time-bound item that catches low-mileage owners off guard.
- Drive chain is replaced at 19k and 37k (every 18k). Lube and adjust at every other interval.

| 8 | Chain adjustor nut (between two nuts) | M8 | 4 | 22 N·m |
| 9 | Front shock absorber & steering stem | M8 | 6 | 18 N·m |
Mirror-bar bolt: 25 N·m. Rear-suspension adjusting nut: 22 N·m.
Break-in (first 1,000 km)
- 0-500 km: keep engine speed under 5,000 rpm
- 500-1,000 km: keep engine speed under 7,000 rpm
- First 200 km: low-speed cornering only - let the tire tread bed in
- First 500 km: gentle braking - new brake pads haven’t reached optimum friction yet
- First 24 hours after a tire patch: max 80 km/h
After break-in, get the 1,000 km first service done at a Voge dealer. The dealer-stamped first service is usually a warranty condition.
