Status: Reported (workaround available) · Fix: Partial - re-pair procedure + firmware update help · Affects: DS900X 2024-2026

Bluetooth on the DS900X 7” TFT pairs cleanly but drops randomly during rides for some users. Severity varies sharply by phone model.

Symptoms

  • Pairing succeeds on initial setup.
  • Connection drops during rides - sometimes within minutes, sometimes after an hour.
  • Audio cuts mid-track if you’re streaming music through the dash.
  • Voge Global app loses connection (rider stats, navigation overlay disappears).
  • Re-pair usually works but the cycle repeats.

Pattern

Reports skew toward:

  • Older Android phones running pre-Android 12 stacks.
  • iPhones running iOS 17.x specifically (mostly resolved on iOS 18).
  • Multiple Bluetooth devices in the rider’s environment (helmet comms + phone + bike all paired).

Riders on iOS 18+ and Android 13+ with no other active Bluetooth peers report few or no drops.

Fix

A combination approach works for most riders:

  1. Update phone OS to current major version. iOS 18 specifically resolved most reported drops.
  2. Forget and re-pair the bike on the phone:
    • Phone Bluetooth → DS900X → Forget Device.
    • On the bike: Settings → Bluetooth → Reset Pairing.
    • Re-pair from scratch.
  3. Update the dashboard firmware to the latest available (v4.7).
  4. Disable other Bluetooth peers during pairing setup; re-enable them one at a time afterward to identify any conflict source.

Workaround if drops persist

  • Re-pair on demand - drops reconnect quickly.
  • Use phone audio via wired headset or helmet comm Bluetooth, bypassing the bike entirely.
  • Live with it for music; navigation tends to stay connected longer than audio streaming.

Owner reports

Voge has acknowledged the issue and is working on a more comprehensive fix in firmware v5.x (release date not yet announced). Most riders report acceptable connectivity post-v4.6 with a fresh re-pair.
